Best time to go
The SOUTH of WA is best explored in spring and summer, that is, from September to March. This region has all 4 seasons: SUMMER, FALL, WINTER and SPRING.
The dry season on the CORAL COAST runs from August to December, when the heat isn't yet as extreme as in January and February. The rainy season runs from May to June.
Dates to keep in mind:
Whale sharks: The season runs from March to June.
Manta rays: The season runs from May to November.
From July to October you can see fields full of wildflowers.
We traveled in November and got spectacular weather, with no rain or stifling heat. We got to swim with manta rays in Coral Bay, but we missed out on the whale sharks since we were out of season.
