South of Bali are the 3 Nusas: Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. The last is the smallest of the three, and a day is enough to explore it and relax on its paradise beaches.

Best time to go
The best time to visit Nusa Ceningan is the dry season, from April to October. During these months the weather is sunny and dry, with temperatures between 26°C and 30°C, perfect for outdoor activities like diving, snorkeling and surfing. Water conditions are excellent and there's less risk of rain.

How to get to Nusa Ceningan
From Bali:
You can get there by fast boat, and they usually leave from the port of Sanur. Everywhere you go they'll offer you the fast boat ticket together with the transfer to the port.
It costs 250,000 rupiah (US$18) per person, including the transfer from your hotel to the port and the fast boat from Sanur to Nusa Ceningan. You can get your ticket here.
The whole trip takes about 4 hours, leaving very early and reaching the island around 10:30, perfect for starting to explore!
From Nusa Penida:
At the port, small boats leave every half hour and take 10-15 minutes to get there, since the islands are super close to each other. The boat will drop you at the yellow bridge on the Nusa Lembongan side. Just cross the bridge and you're in Nusa Ceningan.
The boat costs 50,000 rupiah (US$3.50).
How to get around the island
Motorbike: The island is very small and perfect for exploring by motorbike. The roads are in very good condition and there are hardly any big climbs.
On foot: As we said, the island is small and you can get around it on foot. There are no big climbs here either, which makes it easy to walk.
What to do in Nusa Ceningan
1. Yellow Bridge
The islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan are joined by a bridge: the Yellow Bridge!
2. Relax in the hammocks over the sea
On the way to Blue Lagoon you'll see a bunch of bars on the beach. Go in for a juice, sunbathe in their hammocks over the sea and chill out!
This spot is also amazing for the sunset. When the sun starts going down, pick the bar you like best and enjoy a beer as you watch it set.
3. Blue Lagoon
It was one of the spots we liked most on the island.
It's a beach you can't get down to, surrounded by cliffs that form a kind of lagoon. The blue of the water is an amazing color!
4. Mahana Point
A few steps from Blue Lagoon is the famous “cliff jump”, where you can jump into the sea from different heights. When we went, the water was super rough and there were giant waves, so it wasn't safe to jump.
So we took the chance to have lunch at the restaurant right there while we watched the incredible waves rolling in.
5. Secret Beach
You'll see this beach with its crystal-clear water from Mahana Point. It's perfect for relaxing after lunch.
6. Snorkeling with Buddha statues
The island has some underwater Buddha statues you can see while snorkeling. You'll need to book a tour for that.

Where to stay
The island is very small, so anywhere you choose will be good.
We stayed at Yellow Bridge Guest House, a few steps from the yellow bridge that connects Nusa Ceningan with Nusa Lembongan. The service was super good: the owner took us on her motorbike to buy our fast boat tickets and helped us with everything we needed. A private room cost US$13 per night.
